Celluloide (band)

Celluloide is a French electronic pop band.
==Biography==
Celluloide's debut album 'Naive Heart' sees the day in 2002: twelve pure synthpop songs with delicate female vocals.
This first CD marks also the experimental attitude of Celluloide, with a numbered limited edition of the CD presenting the same 12 tracks in experimental re-constructed versions, enlarging the electronic musical horizons of the band.
During the recording sessions of their second album Words Once Said, Celluloide records 6 covers of 80's wave classics turned into Celluloide's synthpop style under the name
'Naphtaline EP' which announces the improved sound of the new album to come...
2004 sees the band's second album released: 'Words Once Said', which follows the way opened with 'Naive Heart', with 12 pure synthpop clean songs.
Refining their style between retro and modern, Words Once Said will also define new directions of the band's sound.
After few months Celluloide signs with Boytronic's label Major Records for a re-release of Words Once Said for Germany with a very special edition including a track in German...
The band is back at work in 2005, with new musical intentions: after two albums of pure synthpop, Celluloide want to take a way on their own, and include more of their influences in their new songs.
To define this new genre, Celluloide self-labels itself as Bodypop with an upcoming 6 track CD, showing a new face of the band's style: halfway between their usual bleepy electronic tunes with charatetistic cold female vocals and danceable EBM influences.
Due to technical problems, the Bodypop EP announced for 2005 is released in 2006 and helps the band to adjust their new style into a more clearly modern electronic pop, preserving their personality while showing the direction for the new album to come..."Passion & Excitements".
In addition of the 12 new tracks of the new album "Passion & Excitements", is a limited edition of "Bodypop EP", called "Bodypop Clubmixes".
In late 2007, all the covers from the band previously released on several tribute compilation and some unreleased track are completing the 2003 Naphtaline EP, for a CD release in a remastered version.
This brand new Naphtaline LP is now a full length album, with 13 tracks (an exception in Celluloide's discography) and is released in 2008.
